The Stones of Repentance...
The Stone of Justice and the Stone of Mercy, each bear their own
load.
One brings feelings of warmth and joy,
while the other, pain and cold.
The Stone of Justice is a heavy stone, nearly breaking one’s back.
A heavy penalty indeed, for the wayward who've
wondered off track.
The Stone of Justice is carried until one has paid their just due.
But is carried a shorter time and then you
can sooner begin anew.
Now the Stone of Mercy, seeming like the lightest stone at first,
exacts the same toll; carrying that stone
till muscles near burst.
Yes, the smaller Stone of Mercy is carried for a much longer time.
Until your heart is totally purged of the
sin, and of filth and grime.
Until you cry out inside and your heart simply can take no more.
Then comes the Lord, taking the stone and
making all as before.
Each stone has it’s own weight. Different payment plans if you will.
Both are paid to the same Creditor who has
already paid your bill.
The Creditor knows which stone to give, to not only pay your debt,
but also which will do the most good and
leaving you the least regret.
His payment plan is not to hurt you or to dampen your tomorrow.
It’s given you to bring you closer to Him
through true Godly sorrow.
So trust Him and know you received the exact stone you should;
that you may grow the way you want and turn
out the way you would.
"Come now, and let us reason together,
saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet,
they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson,
they shall be as wool."
Isaiah
