One of the Richest in Babylon...

As I sit here in my favorite chair
gazing out the window and into the air,
I have extreme feelings of joy and gladness,
too great for my feeble words to explain the happiness.
For I am a person who has bountiful wealth untold,
and every single day more wealth seems to unfold.
At times I feel guilty, counting all my wealthy gain,
fearful that others who see me will feel I’m boastful and vain.

But I can’t help it, I have so much prosperity,
that I swell with joy and I wish others could have parity.
I’ve secretly and quietly counted my wealth a thousand times,
going over every precious piece in the privacy of my mind.
And here I sit once more, wearing a silly grin from ear to ear,
counting my wealth again, the things that to me are so dear.
Going over all my treasures and counting them one by one.
Yes, without a doubt, I’m one of the richest in Babylon.

I have one who loves me more than I could ever hope for.
I have children straight and true, who walk in the ways of the Lord.
We all have our health and strength and our love overflows
for each and every member of our family, more than anyone knows.
My grandchildren are being taught to respect and love our Heavenly Father
and to know Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and that there is no other.
Joy abounds in our home. Everyone is trying to follow their dream,
all while helping others along the way and refraining from being mean.

Having honor and integrity in their dealings is being taught throughout.
My children teach by example, they don’t push, browbeat or shout.
We’re on our way to being an eternal family some glorious day,
following the Savior who came to earth to show us the way.
Yes, here I sit once more, wearing that silly grin from ear to ear,
counting my wealth again, the things that to me are so dear.
Going over all my treasures and counting them one by one.
Yes, without a doubt, I’m one of the richest in Babylon.

   "I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom;
but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy,
and I will rejoice in my God." Alma 26:11
