I wonder what will it be like on Judgement Day!
I wonder when I stand before Him, what will I say?
What will be the feeling when He looks in my eye?
Will He say, "I remember you well," and say it with a sigh?
Will He say, "I remember all the things you did and said
and all the things from Me you begged and pled."
Will He say, "I remember well all the promises you made,
when your life was full of turmoil and you were afraid."
"I remember your feelings when you needed Me most.
I remember the times I sent the Comforter, the Holy Ghost.
I remember you forgot Me when your problems went away.
I remember you became distant and soon forgot to pray.
Yes, I remember you well and all the mistakes of your past.
I also remember your heart softening, turning to me at last.
I remember you repenting of the wrong you had done
and of what you embraced, you then would shun.
And though you stumbled, I saw you try your best
to be good to others and be an example for the rest.
And I noticed after you changed you tried to follow Me.
Your life is an open book, there’s nothing I didn’t see."
Oh, what will it be like on that great and dreadful day?
When I think about my past, I’m unsure and afraid to say.
Will His judgement of me conclude in a mournful end?
Or in His eye will I see my Lord, my Savior ...and friend.
