                                      Engage...

The Lieutenant stood in front of the class and said, "We have a new criminal fanatic.
He’s killing people in large groups. We have to counter him with a new tactic.
Our tactics have always been to respond, contain and then resolve.
But for this new criminal, not only our tactics, but a new warrior has to evolve.
The killers are walking into our stores, our restaurants and into our schools
and they are shooting innocent people, leaving them to die in bloody pools.

I warn you, these tactics are extremely dangerous. I won’t stand before you and lie.
But it’s all we can think of, to protect the citizens and hopefully save lives.
We’ll send you in, in teams of four. Stay calm and consider the decisions you’re making.
Saving the shooter’s life is important but not more important than the lives he is taking.
Not every officer will be able to do this, some will be overtaken with fear.
But for those who can, you’ll move as a team with a point, two guards and a rear.

If you come across wounded citizens or officers, you’re not to stop and render aid.
Your mission is to rapidly go toward the sound of the gun, find the shooter and engage.
The confrontation will be quick and deadly, there won’t be room to hesitate.
And because it is so dangerous, we can’t force any one of you to participate.
This type of lifesaving call to duty, no one can pay you to do.
This type of call to duty has to be something you feel inside you.

You’re going to have to put the welfare of others above the welfare of your own.
And to be able to be this new kind of warrior, great courage has to be shown.
Your sworn duty is to be the example of good, and a warrior in this new age.
You’re the modern day Knights of the Round Table, so show courage and engage."
As I was suiting up for the training, I remembered hearing this battle cry before.
It was what I had learned in Sunday School, from the time I was three or four.

This battle cry for honor and courage is not only for the officer on the street,
this battle cry goes to you, my brother and sister, it is to you that it speaks.
Today there is a new way of thinking. They call it "anything goes."
They’re changing the values of good and evil and in our children it shows.
The enemies of good are tearing down things like honor and integrity.
They are destroying old ideals and they laugh at values like chastity.

They walk into our schools and tell our children that there is no right and wrong.
That basically we can believe what we want, that all that matters is getting along.
They try to convince us that what was wrong is now okay and there’s no God above.
And if there is, He hasn’t any rules or commandments. He’s just a God of love.
They push this new age thinking so hard, we are surrendering our eternal dreams.
And like the Roman Empire of old, our society is falling apart at the seams.

The shooter can take only your mortal body, leaving it to die in blood and agony.
But these new killers are far more dangerous, they take from you your eternity.
Your duty is to always be the example for good, to always choose the right,
to keep your faith in God above and prove to others that right makes might.
You’re going to have to put the welfare of others, above the welfare of your own.
And if you’re going to be this new warrior, great courage has to be shown.
Your covenant with God; was to be strong and faithful. A valiant warrior in this age.
Because you’re the modern day Stripling Warriors ...so show courage and engage.
